Our Club has been founded on the generous backing of local businesses and tireless fundraising efforts of our members. It is a community sport and we aim to make it as inclusive as possible, keeping membership costs to a minimum.
We couldn’t run Appledore Gig Club without the continued support from sponsors. In return we promote their businesses and support them wherever we can.
Our Current Sponsors
The quality of craftsmanship that goes into the construction of our wooden gigs and oars comes at a cost in terms of time and money. A new gig can take months to build and cost almost £25,000 while a set of oars is nearly £3,000. There is also the cost of trailers, lifejackets, thole pins, VHF radios and assorted paraphernalia. Add to this the yearly maintenance that must be carried out to ensure the gigs will be an asset that can be enjoyed by generations to come and funds are always needed.
